Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions buyers ask us most about Co-Clens products, standards and ordering.
Products
What is the difference between the 0.5% and 2% chlorhexidine products?
Both contain chlorhexidine in 70% ethanol; the 2% products have four times the chlorhexidine concentration. Which to use is set by your local infection prevention policy. See Chlorhexidine 2% and Chlorhexidine 0.5%.
Why are there pink, clear and red-staining versions?
Pink and red-staining tints show where the solution has been applied. The clear version is for settings where a tint is not wanted.
Do you make a spray?
Yes – Chlorhexidine 0.5% Pink Spray in 100ml, 200ml and 500ml.
Where are Co-Clens products made?
Near Thirsk, North Yorkshire, by our manufacturing partner Cod Beck Blenders, at an ISO 9001 accredited facility.

Which standards are your skin disinfectants tested to?
EN 13624, EN 13727 and EN 14476. See Standards & Testing.
Are the products flammable?
